With funding from the Government, the Welfare Council collaborated with Sun Hung Kai Properties to develop the “United Court” Transitional Housing at Tung Tau, Yuen Long. The construction was completed in mid-2022 and held its opening cum blessing ceremony on 16th June. The project provides 1,800 units. In addition to improving the living conditions of grassroots families, through the provision of a wide range of social services the Welfare Council aims to inspire residents to participate fully in the activities of United Court, thereby building a caring, supportive and inclusive community together. Modular integrated construction was adopted to build United Court, which is eco-friendly, flexible in design and provides units of different sizes. It is also equipped with an integrated social service centre, a convenience store, a self-service laundry, a communal kitchen, an SE United Cut, a plaza, a communal farm and waste stations to cater for the everyday needs of residents.
