We have recently become aware of suspected fraudulent activities online, where messages offering "rewards for donations of HK$30" are being used to collect personal data.
We hereby clarify that our Council has not collaborated with any group or organisation to conduct any fundraising activities offering rewards for donations. We have immediately launched an investigation to ensure that all donations and personal information submitted directly through our official website are handled and protected with the utmost care and confidentiality.
We urge the public to remain vigilant and ensure the security of their personal data. If you suspect you have been a victim of fraud, please contact the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" or report it to the police.
