In response to the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council established the "S.K.H. Act of Love 1126 Fire Disaster Support Fund". All donations are being used entirely to support the affected households, with no administrative costs deducted, and aid is being rolled out in phases according to the needs of those affected.
Immediately following the fire, the Council distributed the first round of emergency cash grants. We are currently rolling out a second round of assistance to provide ongoing support.
Additionally, acting as one of the designated agencies for post-disaster support on behalf of the China Social Welfare Foundation and the China Social Assistance Foundation, the Council is progressively providing extra financial assistance.
Since the early stages of the incident, the Council has also launched various accompanying support services, dedicating a total of 13,609 staff hours to these efforts. Recovery takes time; the Welfare Council will continue to provide medium- and long-term support to the affected residents.
