Established in 1997, the S.K.H. Macau Social Services Coordination Office has always devoted itself to providing personalized care and professional services while walking hand in hand with its service users in growth, innovation and reflection. It provides many forms of assistance to those in need, in line with the Christian spirit, “to serve but not to be served”. The office now has 12 service units, through which it extends its professional services to the citizens of Macau to help them build promising lives.

In light of the increasingly frequent exchanges between China and Hong Kong, the Welfare Council has made it one of its top priorities to work closely with its mainland Chinese counterparts. We want to reach as many people as possible. So, we have been

• Assisting Chinese social service providers with launching quality assistance through training and consultations;
• Facilitating the professional development of social work experts, enhancing the knowledge of Christian organisations, along with the skills and quality of social services in mainland China;
• Introducing inventive, yet practical, service philosophies through demonstration projects; and

• Conducting visits and exchange programmes.
